It is with immeasurable sadness that we have to inform you that our colleague and friend Mr Brady has sadly passed away. His family are in our thoughts and prayers at this time.
We as a community are going to take a great deal of time to come to terms with our loss. He embodied everything that is great about our school. He was an integral part of our pastoral support and he will be missed by all staff and students. He has left a hole which we will struggle to fill and quite probably will never be able to.
We will open a book of condolences in the chapel and will allow students to add to this before school and during break and lunchtime. We have also set up a virtual book (found here) for students and staff who have left SFX to make use of. They can do so by leaving memories and messages to Mr Brady and his family.
We have asked Kerry Ryan (school Counsellor) to help support staff and students and will also be looking to external agencies to assist us with this too.
We will be looking to hold different events to celebrate his life and contributions to our school and will communicate these in the future.
Some prayers for Mr Brady, his family and our community
Father of mercies and God of all consolation,
Mr Brady is gone now from this earthly dwelling
and has left us behind mourning his absence.
Let us find in your Son, Jesus,
comfort in our sadness,
certainty in our doubt,
and courage to live through this hour.
Make our faith strong
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen

Most merciful God,
whose wisdom is beyond our understanding,
surround the family of Mr Brady with your love,
that they may not be overwhelmed by their loss,
but have confidence in your goodness,
and strength to meet the days to come.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen

Bless those of us who mourn the death of Mr Brady
And feel that with this loss our lives are incomplete.
Bless us who mourn, and fill our empty hearts with pleasant memories,
the sound of laughter, sunshine and happier days.
Bless us who mourn, and heal our brokenness with the soothing balm of your gentle touch,
that we might know your love, wholeness and peace.
Amen.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him,
may he rest in peace.
Amen
We know full well that Mr Brady’s death will impact our community and we encourage all students to speak with staff to seek help with dealing with our loss. However we also know that many old Xaverians will be impacted by his death, we encourage you to make use of support groups and online resources, these can be found here:
